A001 Pressure Grid - Assessment | Team play against each other. One team acts as feeding players the other team undertake individually the pressure run. Teams score goals to win. Can also be used as a rotating individual pressure grid. |
A002 Magic Box Grids | Players line up in teams 3, 4 or 5 on each corner marker. They all start together and sprint to set positions, completing each set when every member of the team has completed the run, as they either return to their start or they move on to the next stage. |
A003 Overlapping Pass & Fitness | In threes passing and running drill, middle player (A) passes to an outside player (B) about 2 metres away and then (A) sprints around the outside of that player. Player (B) moves inside and passes to Player (C). |
A004 Variable Paced Run | Players use a full pitch to develop various skills (For Level 1 juniors allow them to pick up the ball where indicated) for all other Levels players should use ball control if they can. |
A005 Line Sprints for Fitness | Players sprint to each nominated marker and back to their team in a very basic fitness routine. Add a ball to improve skills and put more pressure on players. Teams race against each other with some penalty to the losing team. |
A006 Speed Passing Fitness Run | Coach signals start then players have a set time or set number of passes to inter pass down the pitch or up and down the pitch or set area. |
A007 Circle Sprints | Open area with markers, two soccer balls. Set up markers forming very large circle players in pairs as shown, sprint from marker to marker |
A008 First To Ball Wins | Split each team on a marker near to the halfway line about four metres apart and facing goal. When the coach calls the word "go" or the whistle is blown a ball is played down the middle. Both players have set off and have run around the post. They will cut inside the markers and chase down the ball. |
A009 Speed Beep Test | Recovery Test (10 - 7 second sprints in 3 minutes each run is repeated every 30 seconds) - (no audio tape required) |
TheBeepTest | ||
A010 Dribble & Shot Assessment | First the player dribbles at speed through four markers at about three metres apart and in a line parallel to the touch line and running towards the penalty area. The player then cuts into the penalty area and shoots right footed or left footed for goal with that ball. This shot can be from any distance but MUST be on target. |
A011 Pass & sprint Drill | Players start in pairs with the first pair each with a ball and an empty station ahead of them |
A012 Shooting & Fitness Drills | Players move past the coach, run forward, sit on the pitch. The coach then lobs the ball over the players heads, first up wins the ball, the other player must tackle or chase to prevent a shot on goal. |
